We hosted our first tech meetup in conjunction with iO Associates at Slate HQ to talk all things gRPC, C# to F# and how to avoid being 'that' .Net developer.
With over 60 developers in attendance, the event was a great success filled with good beer, delicious pizza from Thirsty Bear and some intense competition from the Slate robot arm challenge which saw three winners walk away with a cash prize.
We look forward to this being the first of many events at Slate HQ.
Watch out highlights video below:
The first talk of the evening was by our very own Chief Evangelist Callum Linington. He took us through his journey from C# to F# discussing his findings along the way. You can find out more on this in his latest blog post here.
Following Callum, Chris Bertrand (Senior Developer, Sage People) entertainingly presented his caution to the group on how they can avoid being 'that' .Net developer.
The main talk for the session was given by Marc Gravell from Stack Overflow. He looked at how gRPC can be integrated between applications efficiently and with high performance.
To finish the evening Ashley Coker (CEO, Slate) hosted an engaging panel session with each of the speakers.
Keep an eye on our blog to see more detailed content on each of these talks.
