Large private-sector companies engaging flexible contract staff, including highly skilled IT contractors, are coming under scrutiny for IR35 with the new legislation imposed by HMRC due to take effect from 6 April 2020. This brings them in line with public-sector organisations (e.g. NHS) which have been subject to this legislation since April 2017.
